The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX My Lips Eat Cherry Aqua Lip Tint Review
Lovely ME:EX My Lips Eat Cherry Aqua Tint by The Face Shop is a line of three drastically different shades of tints: #1 Juicy Cherry, #2 Juicy Red & #3 Bloody Red. Currently, #3 Bloody Red is removed from the the line, probably because it didn’t perform as well as the other two tints.
PRODUCT
Natural glow just like you own lips (my lips are dull af so….) It’s moist water type tint that gently absorbed into your lips makes natural rosy lips
Upgraded version of water type tine with strong moisturizing effects. Water Dispersion Gel System (wow fancy tech) that creates an aqua gel network film onto the lips holds moisture and gives smooth and even application
Long Lasting liveliness that doesn’t need to be reapplied. Water soluble coloring helps maintain lips lively and well-colored even after eating
COLOUR
Out of the three products in the My Lips Eat Cherry Line, I purchased the #1 Juicy Cherry. I cringed at the name but hey, at least the colour is nice. #2 Juicy Red seemed too light for my skin tone and #3 Bloody Red just looked horrifying in the bottle and come on, that name is pretty off-putting. I regret not testing out any of the tints, especially #3 when it was still available, as it could have been a winner in my tint collection.
As I said before I had not tested out any of the colours before mindlessly buying the Lovely ME:EX My Lips Eat Cherry Aqua Tint in Juicy Cherry. After using it for a while, the colour was a less pigmented. Especially since I'm not the type to apply a lot of tint and build colour, it was even less pigmented.
IN ACTION – Application & Durability
As The Face Shop promised, the tint is very smooth to apply. I pampered my lips before doing the product review to make sure that my lips were smooth. While using the product, it was slightly sticky. I originally thought that it would dry off after I left it for a while but even after 2 hours it was still sticky. The colour started fading at 5 hours when I was eating and drinking. I found myself having to reapply the tint. The product description states ‘Water soluble coloring helps maintain lips lively and well-colored even after eating,’ which didn’t really work out. On the bright side, the product does lock in moisture quite well, my lips only felt slightly chapped after 6 hours and I didn’t use lip balm! So when using this tint, applying lip balm or not is your choice although applying lip balm would be best as it'll keep your lips hydrated.
cONCLUSION
Overall the tint is really nice. The 2 most important points of tints to me are the colour pigmentation and its duration. Even though the colour was not as pigmented but was light, I still liked it as it was also long-lasting. The only downside for me was that the product was slightly sticky on the lips. As a rating for the Lovely ME:EX My Lips Eat Cherry Aqua Tint, I would give it ⅘ stars.
