April Skin Oil In Tint Review

We recently received a package from Earlypicker, an online Korean cosmetics store which is known for selling the hottest and trendiest brand & products in Korea, having reasonable prices and time sales as well as their sample pouch. They were kind enough to send over a couple of products for the Beautyia team to try out. The April Skin Oil In Tint was in the sample pack along with 3 April Skin Mud Masks, a full size April Skin Eye Doll Brush Pen Liner in brown, and I was quite curious to try the oil tint out since I'm not really a fan of lip tints and generally just don't own tints. I find that some lip tints are very drying but I was keen to try it as it was marketed as an oil in tint, which in my opinion would be packed with moisture. Keep an eye out for the rest of our Earlypicker reviews!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I like the sleek packaging of the product, it's not bulky and is easy to carry around for on the go and travelling. The applicator itself is not the typical doe foot sponge, instead it is rounded at the tip and has an hourglass shape, synching in at the middle. I like how the applicator is this shape as I find it is easier to apply with accuracy as the sunken part of the brush curves perfectly around your lip. The tint itself has a thicker consistency, I would almost call it a gloss rather than a lip tint, the colour 'Scarlet' is not exactly true to colour on the packaging, however it is a soft shade of a pinky-red. The colour is suitable for everyday use or on days when you would like to go for a soft, girly look as the pink hue is quite soft. The colour is also build-able but in my opinion, the texture is not my favourite.

APPLICATION AND DURABILITY

The tint does feels quite sticky upon initial application, due to it's thick consistency as it is after all, a oil tint. But I personally find the stickiness doesn’t last too long after. Though I definitely think this is a product which you would need multiple touch ups during the day; after eating, the colour definitely comes off, leaving only a slight tint on the lips. The tint however is not transfer-proof and will leave marks onto EVERYTHING. This is a sudden turn on events as tints usually don't transfer after it dries.

Conclusion

Overall, I'm not a fan of the durability of this product as it does not stay on when you eat or drink. I do however not mind the tackiness of the product personally but I know that can be a problem with other people. So for my final thoughts, I wouldn’t really recommend this product as a lip tint. You could try to use it as a gloss on top of a long lasting lipstick or try the glossy lid effect. In the end, it does gives a nice natural look and the colour is really pretty but it has poor durability and there are better long lasting lip tints on the market. The tint doesn't really serve its purpose so my rating is 2/5.
