e.l.f. Blemish Control Primer Review

E.l.f. Cosmetic's Blemish Control Primer can be used to transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas. It is infused with salicylic acid which helps by dissolving skin debris that clogs your pores and creates acne, Vitamin E, and tea tree extract helps control breakouts and blemishes while preparing your skin so your makeup will go on evenly with a long-lasting satin finish. It is also cruelty free and vegan!

Application

This e.l.f Blemish Control Primer which is one of the tone adjusting primers in green assists in the correction of redness on the face. It is easy to apply onto your skin with your fingers or a sponge before foundation, BB cream or CC cream. You could also use a brush but this left some streaks running across my face therefore I decided it was best to use my fingers as it allows the product to form a thin layer onto your face as your fingers are heating up your skin. Although the use of a sponge helps create a fair layer across your face, the layering is still thicker.

Coverage

As this is a blemish controlling primer, it is best used of concealing the redness of your skin such as from acne or just redness around certain areas of the face, it's coverage is best when the layer applied is thin, also allowing the skin to breathe. For me, the primer did well covering the natural rosiness of my cheeks and some pimples around my T-Zone. If you are unsure of the position of your T-Zone, it is located at your forehead and runs down your nose as show below in the image.

Durability

E.l.f's Blemish Control Primer graciously smooths over enlarged pores which are usually located around your inner cheek area or your nose. The primer fills in these pores allowing any foundation or bb and cc cream to glide across your face. The primer is very long lasting and helped to prevent excess oil as the day progressed. However when applying it is best to apply your face makeup right after as the primer tends to not work well when dry, resulting in it's durability to weaken as the day progresses. Therefore it would be easier to do your eye makeup

first before starting your face makeup with e.l.f's Blemish Control Face Primer.

Conclusion

Overall the e.l.f Blemish Control Face Primer is good for minimising and filling pores, it also allowed my makeup to apply smoothly as it helped maintain and prevent excess oil around my nose. The finishing result the primer gave to my BB cream, before powdering was not quite matte and but instead it gave a healthy glow to my skin. This healthy glow was able to last the day with minimal touchups therefore I would recommend this primer to anyone who has redness or acne as it really helps to soften the look.
